Abstract
The paper presents the results obtained by magnetic biasing of a Composite Right / Left Handed (CRLH) CoPlanar Waveguide (CPW) Zeroth-Order Resonating (ZOR) antenna on ferrite substrate. The tuning effect is obtained as a result of remarkable properties of the ferrite substrate in the microwave frequencies domain when applying a biasing magnetic field. Data obtained by simulation with a suitable electromagnetic analysis software tool indicate a frequency shift of about 1.1 GHz for a variable magnetic biasing field between 0 T and 0.265 T. The experiments demonstrate an approximately 1.1 GHz antenna frequency tuning as a result of this magnetic field variation.
