  • Abstract
Three general approaches to detecting Trojans embedded in FPGA circuits were explored in the context of the 2012 CSAW Embedded Systems Challenge: functional testing, power analysis, and direct analysis of the bitfile. These tests were used to classify a set of 32 bitfiles which include Trojans of an unknown nature. The project is a step towards developing a framework for Trojan-detection which leverages the strengths of a variety of testing techniques.
