Abstract
Assessment of blood pressure as a prognostic factor for cardiovascular diseases, is nowadays analyzed both by constant component, which depends on the mean blood pressure and cardiac output, vascular resistance, and the pulsating component is influenced by left ventricular ejection, arterial stiffness and wave reflected. This new direction for assessment and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases, as well as technological progress in microelectronics led to the emergence of new technologies in achieving accurate and affordable device for measuring central aortic pressure and augmentation index. With the emergence of these new measurements devices, the home monitoring role of blood pressure and augmentation index increase in the management of cardiovascular diseases.
