Abstract
In this work, we have designed and developed an original variable linear power supply. The originality of this power lies in the control of the rectifier circuit with a reference superimposed on the output voltage. This reference voltage follows the changes of the output and maintains a constant subject to the terminals of the booster transistor. Indeed, a 7805 type regulator referenced slippery keeps booster voltage constant. This benefit greatly reduces heat losses and increases performances. We have treated the problems of conventional power supplies and then we developed a new one delivering a current of 3A and a voltage varying from 0 to 30V. This solution helps reducing power losses and the efficiency is increased to about 90% and the radiator cooling is appreciably reduced. It´s a sliding because the voltage difference between the input voltage and the output voltage is kept constant regardless the variations. The modelling was performed on Matlab Simulink and the theoretical treatment is validated by experimental tests on different types of regulators.
