Abstract
In order to achieve daily monitoring of the quality of the water source and track the pollution emergency, a low-cost and mobile online monitoring device has been designed. This device uses Cortex-A8 as core processor, acquires the position information by GPS, and communicates with the remote control center through 3G wireless transmission. This paper describes the hardware and the software of the device, and focuses on the extraction of the color feature of the water quality image and its long-distance transmission, and the tracking of the pollution source. In practice, this system can be well operated in the tested river.
