Abstract
Multicast routing is considered a key measure to boost the performance of a Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) with massive transmission flows. This paper introduces an advanced tree-based multicast routing protocol, utilizing an improved label mechanism to maintain the topology and groups in MANETs and, more importantly, to build backup paths which can secure better transmission stability. Simulation results show that, with slightly more control overhead, our protocol is able to produce constantly better performance than existing multicast routing protocols.
