Abstract
In this paper, a Temperature-Controlled Oscillator (TCO) dedicated to method of optimum control of throughput (OCT) of microprocessor is introduced. The aim of this device is to control the efficiency of computing machine in such a way that its internal temperature is maintained on required level. The TCO is analytically modeled and simulated in Simulink. The presented oscillator uses properties of diode to properly shape a frequency-temperature characteristic. This circuit is dedicated to parametric-based implementation of OCT. The circuit has been designed in CMOS 0.18μm technology and is a part of the ASIC called Taceo.
