Abstract
In this paper, we investigate the effects of electromagnetic interferences (EMI) on implantable cardiac pacemakers. For the purpose, we measure the strength of electromagnetic fields arising from electric article surveillance (EAS) systems, and conduct experiments to diagnose the functionality of pacemaker in the electromagnetic fields by using Irnich-model.
