Abstract
Recent research has shown that large-form-factor devices can affect radiated power measurements in a reverberation chamber due to absorption by lossy material present in the device. In this paper, these effects are explained and related to the angular orientation and proximity of the antenna associated with the large-form-factor load in the reverberation chamber. It is shown that RF absorption rather than physical shadowing of an antenna by the object under test is the origin of the proximity effect.
