Abstract
Icing on overhead transmission lines and equipments seriously affect the operation of power grids in the world, design values of icing disaster resistance of transmission lines directly relate to these problems, such as the capacity of anti-ice load of transmission lines and the cost of whole lines. Therefore, analysis on ice covering characteristics of Hunan province is meaningful. After collected and treated the icing and weather data of Hunan province, as well as widely investigated on icing and weather data together with frost occurrences in the Hunan history, ice accretion mechanism on wires of transmission lines is revealed, and the impact factors of power lines icing in Hunan power grid such as geographical situation, climate characteristics, freezing weather characteristics, micro terrain and the elevation is analyzed, and mainly introduced the meteorological elements glaze frost distribution of Hunan province. What´s more, the modeling power line icing of Hunan province is presented in this paper.
