  • Abstract
In this work, the energy-aware cooperative multimedia transmission strategy for relay-assisted cellular networks is modeled as an evolutionary game. Its advantages are to incorporate the dynamics of environment and strategy decision into the multimedia transmission process without the knowledge of complete private information of all nodes. Specifically, the replicator dynamics is applied to model the cooperation strategy selection adaptation, and the evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) is treated as the solution. We then prove that the resulting ESS under the replicator dynamics is unique, and the dynamics can converge to the ESS. We further develop a cooperation strategy selection evolutionary algorithm based on Q-learning approach, which helps the potential relay nodes obtain the ESS solely based on their own playing observations. Moreover, we focus on a more general game in which the dynamic cooperation strategy selection with delay is modeled, and the properties of the resulting ESS are also analyzed.
