Abstract
Content Delivery Network (CDN) is a specialized network for streaming media business. It can distribute high-quality, large-scale and rich multimedia content. In order to truly achieve local load balancing to CDN, this paper proposes a Streaming Media Load Balancing algorithmic based on local resources (SMLB). The algorithm can select a load balancing scheme automatically based on local resource conditions. It improves the scalability and robustness of the network. And it is able to locate a better proxy server node accurately. This paper gives the definition of local resources and the method that how to calculate the weight and the way to judge the condition of resources. Then, it designed SMLB algorithm. Finally, it proves the superiority of the proposed algorithm by experiment.
