However, popular image processing techniques have little been used in this specific domain. In the paper, the characteristics of traditional Chinese painting are analyzed firstly. Then, the process of constructing ontology for traditional Chinese painting is dissertated in details, including how to select appropriate classes and properties in CRM ontology and how to extend them in specific domain. In addition, the framework of retrieval is introduced. Ontology is a good avenue for knowledge sharing and information integration.
