Abstract
A stacked circular patch antenna is studied to be used as the reflector feed. Large bandwidth is achieved using stacked patches. Circular symmetric patterns with low cross-polarization are achieved from this antenna by optimizing the ground plane size for a particular substrate permittivity. With a ground plane size of only 0.3λ, good front-to-back ratio is also possible along with good pattern symmetry and low cross-polarization.
