  • Abstract
This paper evaluates the detection performance of an M-sequence-based MIMO radar system considering phase jitter effects. Phase jitter was modeled in each of the MIMO radar receiver. The system´s performance was evaluated in terms of the probability of detection versus signal to noise ratio (SNR), while varying the standard deviation of the phase jitter. Three types of MIMO radar processing schemes were investigated: a non-coherent MIMO, a re-phased netted radar (RPNR), and a decentralized radar network (DRN) processing. It was demonstrated that the phase jitter degraded the SNR yielding the same probability of detection, regardless of the type of processing scheme chosen. The performance degradation was found to be negligible if the phase jitter terms were below 0.1 radian.
