Abstract
This paper focuses on the inverter topology for connecting photovoltaic (PV) modules to a single phase power grid. In this study, the design and simulation of a transformer less grid connected PV CukZeta inverter with common ground is presented in which influences of the electric grid regulations, standards and the solar panel operational characteristics are considered. The simulation results of the inverter are shown for different operating conditions by using LTspice software. The low power losses and high efficiency (η) are the key points which are calculated by including the real characteristics of the switches with thermal correction of RDS(on) of the MOSFETs. The simulation results verify that the proposed topology enables to achieve the peak efficiency of 96.3%.
