  • Abstract
    The dynamic adjustment of TDD UL-DL configuration based on the instantaneous traffic conditions can be an effective way to optimize the system performance. Small cells in LTE heterogeneous network are considered to be one of the candidates for the dynamic adjustment. In this paper, we focus on UL-DL reconfiguration algorithms to conduct the dynamic adjustment, where the QoS requirement differences of mixed services are considered. Unlike the previous algorithms, we develop a UL-DL reconfiguration algorithm which is aware of traffic QoS requirement and guarantees both packet bit rate and packet delay. The performance improvement is theoretically analyzed and simulated on system level. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing dynamic UL-DL reconfiguration algorithms in terms of packet delay and packet drop ratio.
