  • Abstract
    The transmission of mobile video in wireless networks encounters several problems such as limited bandwidth and unstable data transmission, which are rather bad for smooth and high-quality video play. This paper proposes a novel QoS model, which adjusts the video quality dynamically to make the clients accept the videos with different bit rates smoothly during playing. This model makes the video bit rates adapt to the network bandwidth by network status monitoring and feedback control, which improves the smoothness of video play. Moreover, this model adopts data packing to improve the video transmission efficiency and the error control mechanism of limited-time lost packet retransmission to ensure the video quality.
