Abstract
The characteristics of piezoelectric actuator based on the mechanism of the near-field acoustic levitation were researched in this paper. The actuator were assembled by the axial suspension components, the radial stable driving stator components, rotor and the external frame components. The amplitude of the Langevin transducer was enlarged by the acoustic horn, the air film can be created on the output end surface. The rotor was suspended above the output surface of the acoustic horn. Vibration mode B03 was motivated in the cylindrical stator by the piezoelectric ceramics. It can generate a vibrating squeeze air in the air between the stator and the rotor. The rotor can achieve high rotation speed driven by the 3-rd traveling wave. The driving characteristics of non-contact cylindrical actuator were analyzed by the measurement of the rotational speed of the different rotor with different grooves. The modal analysis of the cylindrical actuator was carried out, and the resulting sound pressure distribution was calculated by finite element model. Then the effect of the grooves under the stator vibration surface on rotational speed was parametrically investigated. Finally the prototypes were manufactured and driving characteristics of the actuators with different grooves is the design idea of the ultra-high rotational speed ultrasonic actuators.
