Abstract
In this Paper, the feasibility of an unequal amplitude equal phase power splitter using a microstrip technology in the UHF band is proposed. Unequal splitter with 3-options is designed in the present work, these are conventional microstrip design, Power splitter with input transformer & arbitrary design impedance (A) is introduced to control high impedance values and Power splitter with general design equations (Selection of Z1 or Z2 with required Impedances). Finally Power splitter with general design equations is realized. Here the impedance of one of the transmission line selected is 35 ohm which is best suited for the impedance limitation of 20Ω-80Ω with a large power dividing ratio in wind profiling radar applications where the side lobe levels are most negative required. The simulated and measured results are presented to verify our proposed design.
