  • Abstract
In this paper Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) gains are evaluated by Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm. Three area thermal system of Automatic Generation Control (AGC) are considered with PlugIn Electric Vehicles (PEVs) to solve load frequency control problem. Incorporation of PEVs the frequency and tie-line power response are improved in terms of undershoot (US), overshoot (OS), settling time (ST) and damping ratio (df/dt). These PID gain values are found analytically by using the MATLAB SOFTWARE based program. The frequency and tie-line power transient responses are verified by using MATLAB SIMULINK SOFTWARE. The comparison of frequency and tie-line power response characteristics with and without PEVs are also mentioned in this paper.
