  • Abstract
    The article is devoted to investigation of relaxation zones in shock waves in carbon dioxide. It is proposed that carbon dioxide molecules can possess rotational and vibrational degrees of freedom along with translational degrees of freedom. Vibrational degrees of freedom is described by the model of harmonious oscillator. The shock wave is described like narrow transition region between two complete thermodynamic equilibrium states. The shock wave is divided into relaxation zones with various thickness. Each of zones is matched to certain relaxation stage. Generalized dynamic consistency conditions at a border of an each zone are written. This permit to find gas parameters on the borders of relaxation zones.
