Abstract
In this report, the relaxation measurement using optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) to detect cells that are coated with superparamagnetic nanoparticles is studied. The emerging technology of ODMR represents a new detection method for magnetic relaxometry has reached sensitivity comparable to that of SQUIDs and without requiring cryogenics. Results show the use of ODMR method to detect relaxivity of cells labeled by magnetic nanoparticles with excellent sensitivity and high spatial resolution. This technique is predicted to be promising in the imaging of living molecules and cells.
