  • Abstract
This paper extends the Freeman-Durden decomposition algorithm to compact polarimetric (CP) SAR images under CTLR mode. To solve the underdetermined equations for CTLR decomposition, the contribution of volume scattering is taken as a free parameter, thus giving a complete set of solutions in an explicit format. The value range of volume scattering contribution is then derived, within the constraint that the weighting factor of each scattering component should be nonnegative. The feasibility of this algorithm is supported by two data sets from AIRSAR and RADARSAT-2 respectively.
