Abstract
The diagnosis using palpation is adopted in almost all medicine systems. The pulse reading instrument helps physician in examining the palpation of the patient. However, wrist pulse reading is one of the frequently used method for disease diagnosis by Ayurvedic1 practitioner. Hence the wrist pulse reading instrument designed based on the Ayurvedic palpation method for examining Nadi2 will be of great use in disease diagnosis. The proposed instrument measures the palpation on Nadi and presents result in the analytical form. The system uses flexible pressure sensors which can be put on finger tips. The variations of the pressure pulses reflect the blood pressure variations on the Nadi. A data acquisition module will acquire the sensation and record it for the further analysis by the Ayurvedic practitioner.
