Abstract
The magnetic properties of L10-FePt(110)/A1-FePt bilayer films related to exchange spring is investigated in this research for potential application in MFM tips. The bilayer films are deposited on MgO(110) substrates by magnetron sputtering at 400°C and vacuum annealed at 400-700°C for 6 h. X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry are used for characterization. It is shown that the hysteresis loop can be efficiently tailored by the thickness and magnetic ordering of FePt(110) layer.
