  • Abstract
In this work, the grain refinement behavior, microstructure and magnetic properties of Sm-Co-Cr-C nanocrystalline alloys by TEM and HAADF-STEM were reported. Results showed that the addition of Cr and C leads to the formation of <;0001> texture in SmCo5 alloy melt-spun at relatively high wheel speed of 50 m/s. SmCo7-x(Cr3C2)x (x = 0-0.25) and SmCo4.8(Cr3C2)0.2 ingots were prepared by arc melting under argon. Melt-spun ribbons were produced from the ingots with wheel speeds of 20, 30, 40, and 50 m/s. The crystal structure of the sample was identified by XRD. The microstructural study and quantitative chemical analyses were carried out with the TEM, STEM and X-EDS. Hard magnetic properties were measured by VSM with a maximum field of 23 kOe.
