  • Abstract
As continued growth in the recent energy problem, making efforts to increase the saturation magnetic flux density (Bs) and to decrease the core loss of soft magnetic materials has come into a global subject. Recently, FeSiBMCu and FeMB (M= Nb, Zr, Mo, etc.) nanocrystalline alloys exhibit relatively high Bs of 1.2~1.7 T, and their core loss is very small. However, M elements result in a decreasing BS. More recently, the Bs of 1.80 T ~ 1.94 T was reported in the FeBCu alloys[3]. The alloys contain no non-magnetic elements (Nb, Zr, Mo, etc.) and exhibit high glass-forming ability. However, these alloys have large core loss. In order to decrease the core loss, we add Ca element to increase the electrical resistivity. In the paper, we prepare Fe83.5B15Cu1.5Cax (x= 0.04, 0.07, 0.1, 0.13) nanocrystalline alloys by single-roll melt-spinning and investigate the effects of Ca doping on the magnetic properties for the alloys.
