Abstract
This paper presents a novel wideband high gain rectenna (rectifying antenna) for RF energy harvesting. The proposed device consists of a double-sided antenna, a low-pass filter and a doubling rectifying circuit using Shottcky diodes as rectifying elements. It works over the frequency range from 1.9 to 3.2 GHz. The simulated results demonstrate that the maximum rectenna conversion efficiency is nearly 70% around 2.4 GHz with the incident power density of 50 μW/cm2. The overall rectenna conversion efficiency within the operational bandwidth is greater than 50%.
