Abstract
Tactical operations are highly stressful dynamic situations with life and death consequences and as a result operators are regularly trained to ensure high performance. Physiological response to that training assists in determining the operator´s response to the training activity. To date physiological monitoring during tactical training has been limited. Serious games have great potential to be used for tactical training. This paper presents the Athena platform which is a Big Data approach for real-time multi-sensory stimulation and response monitoring with serious games. A key benefit of this work is the extensions to the Artemis platform Data Acquisition to enable the integration of real-time signals to and from a Serious Game. This research is instantiated within the context of military tactical training.
