  • Abstract
    Summary form only given. The paper is devoted to the study of the chemical composition of spark discharge plasma in a gas nitrogen composition at a different value of the energy absorbed in the spark channel. The investigations were performed using several kinds of the treated materials based on titanium, aluminum, and iron. The spectroscopic method and HS single-frame photography were used in the investigations. A significant attention was paid to the study of erosive jet plasma. The comparative data of the energy released in the channel, the size of the channel, and the size of the erosive crater for different materials are given.The change of energy absorbed in the spark provides material treatment in different modes: with a light erosion of the surface of the treated materials and with a high degree of erosion. It determines different directions of practical application of the method of spark treatment which are discussed in the report.
