Abstract
This paper presents the current stabilization technique that uses high-frequency voltage pulses to supply discharge lamps and takes advantage of the resistivity of the plasma to limit the current through the lamp. A computational model that regards the chemical and physical discharge characteristics for high-pressure sodium lamp was implemented in MATLAB to validate the proposed power supply. A 150-W prototype was implemented to confirm the current stabilization technique.
