Abstract
A systematic, fast and accurate procedure for compound-slot linear array design in the millimeter and sub-millimeter bands that combines method of moments (MoM), Equivalent Circuit Model and Forward Matching Procedure (FMP) is presented in this communication. The single slot is analyzed in several different configurations using MoM to generate a database. From each case, an equivalent electrical network is defined. Then, according to the radiation requirements of the desired array, the elements are designed and properly connected by means of FMP, which takes into account impedance properties to keep the input matched at the specified frequency. As a result, an N-device electrical network equivalent to an N-slot array is obtained. A six compound-slot linear array is demonstrably designed, fabricated and measured in the 12 GHz band.
