A Microcomputer Laboratory and Its Courses

A new microcomputer laboratory within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clarkson College is described. The laboratory, while not changing the conceptual goals of the existing courses, has had a positive impact on these courses, particularly the introductory ones. The laboratory has made possible two new courses: a microcomputer course for all engineering and science students, and a project-oriented course for seniors in electrical and computer engineering. The course changes and new offerings are discussed and evaluated.
