Abstract
This note comments on the paper "Reliability of k-out-of-n:G systems with imperfect fault-coverage" by S. Akhtar (1994). An alternative probability argument can be used to obtain the MTBF (mean time between failures) and MTTF (mean time to failure) for such systems. This has the advantage that higher moments of such failure times can also be determined.<>
