  • Abstract
New information is presented on the initial deposition layer of CoCr film which is divided into three regions. In the first region, up to 300 Å from the substrate, Hc¿ and Ms are small, crystallization is disturbed and there is no perpendicular anisotropy. From 300 Å to 0.1 ¿m, Hc¿ and Ms are very large, suggesting that this layer is formed of segregated Cr fine grains. Above 0.1, ¿m the Hc¿ curve gently slopes down as the film thickness increases, Ms is constant, and the crystal orientation is good. Thus, it was confirmed that there is an intermediate level within the initial formation layer of CoCr films which has very large Hc¿ and Ms values.
