  • Abstract
    A statistical approach to the evaluation of the performance of amorphous silicon photoconductive arrays for artificial neural networks is presented. By characterising the nonuniformity of the devices, its effect on a typical two-layer perceptron is investigated. Circuit simulation is employed to prove the theoretical prediction.
