  • Abstract
A major objective for automotive manufacturers is to develop a user interface, such as gesture recognition, that can improve the task classification for specific tasks from visual primarily and visual-manual to manual only and manual-primarily, to achieve major safety benefits. This is the main reason that motivates most automotive manufacturers to actively research the possibility of gesture recognition for operating in-vehicle secondary controls.
