Abstract
A new approach to a tuner technique, the double conversion tuner, is presented, and the test results based on such a concept are shown. The issues considered are problem areas such as IM2, IM3, the noise figure, signal-to-noise ratio at larger RF input signals affected by the automatic gain control (AGC) starting point, local oscillator (LO) phase jitter, beat problems between the LO1 and LO2, and crosstalk between the mixer and the oscillator
