Abstract
An integrating electret dosimeter is an analog of a common ionization chamber, replacing one electrode by an electret. Using such dosimeters for personnel and environmental monitoring the radiation registration sensitivity as a function of kind and energy of radiation, as well as of wall material and interelectrode distance, is of interest. In the present paper these values were determined theoretically and experimentally for incident X-and gamma rays and neutrons as well as for radioactive gases (tritium, radon) for a parallel-plate chamber. Furthermore, the radiation registration properties of an electret pulse chamber were studied. The chamber contains a coronacharged PTFE electret. In order to get high charge stability, electret formation at elevated temperatures was studied.
