  • Abstract
    The hcp-ordered phase of Fe3Pt thin films is successfully synthesized and shows a very large sixfold basal plane magnetic anisotropy of the order of 105 erg/cc. This in-plane magnetic anisotropy depends on the deposition temperature and its trend is similar to the change in the integrated intensity of the superlattice peak of Fe3Pt. Therefore, there is a correlation between the ordering and the magnetic anisotropy.
