  • Abstract
It is easy to think that trade marks are only important for consumer items, and not relevant to electrical equipment for industrial use. But this is a big mistake because with the new Trade Marks Act in force since the end of October 1994, it is now more important than ever to register the names and symbols you use, otherwise you could easily find that another company has the legal right to use ´your´ mark, and to stop you from using it. Two companies which manufacture equipment and have a long history of trade mark use and registration are The 600 Group and Grundfos AS. The author discusses their experiences with trademarks and some of the points to consider in registering trade marks.
