  • Abstract
    The FCC has mandated implementation of the EIA-708-B standard for digital closed captioning by July 1, 2002. The paper reviews some important digital closed captioning implementation issues and recommendations addressed in EIA/CEA CEB-10-A, "EIA-708-B Implementation Guidance". The topics are related to: caption service descriptors; window dimensions and attributes; handling reset, delay, and cancel commands; multi-byte commands.
