Abstract
A review is undertaken of the role of space charges and traps in polymer electronic devices. The origin of the space charges considered include electrode injection leading to space-charge-limited currents in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), ionized impurities leading to rectification at Schottky junctions and mobile ion effects. Also considered are the effects of traps on the performance of organic metal-insulator-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MISFETs)
