Abstract
Fundamental similarities and differences between the two most widely used electrical conductor materials, copper and aluminum, are described, as well as how their differences must be taken into account in both design and installation. Detailed recommendations are given for aluminum bus and feeder conductor connections, as is information on a new group of aluminum conductor alloys, as well as new Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed connectors for use with aluminum conductors.
