  • Abstract
"Sensor magnetics" refers to a new field in applied magnetics involving sensors using magnetic materials and their applications in sensing technologies. Recently such magnetic sensors have come into wide use, not only in conventional industrial measurement, but also in the fields of mechatronics, electronics, medical electronics, and information technologies. In particular, a new trend to combine advanced magnetic sensors such as security sensors and data tablets with personal computers and other computer equipment, is worth noting. Such "information sensors" are likely to have a large market. This article explains the principles and construction of magnetic sensors and the evaluation of magnetic sensor materials, and summarizes topics in amorphous magnetic sensors.
