  • Abstract
    The equivalent circuit method for analysis of electrical machine transients is presented. The method is based on the analogy between the equations of the RC network and the equations of the finite element method combined with the circuit equations of the windings. The magnetic coupling of coil sides is represented by the capacitance coupling in an equivalent RC model. The motion of the rotor is simulated by reconnections of the resistors which represent the air-gap region. On the basis of electric analogy, the formula for electromagnetic torque calculation is proposed
