Abstract
Optimum color CRT performance requires that the electron beam impinge on the screen at the proper phosphor stripe. The extent to which the beam fails to strike the intended phosphor stripe is referred to as misregistration. Misregistration leads to loss of purity and luminance. Among the many factors which influence the extent of misregistration, perhaps the most important is the quality of the exposure lens used in the process to deposit the phosphor stripes on the screen. Exposure lens development is quite labor-intensive and is subject to human error.
