  • Abstract
This letter discusses a direction finding using a patch antenna array with an electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structure. The super-resolution algorithm MUSIC is considered as an example of an adaptive nulling. Our numerical investigation shows the accuracy and depth of MUSIC spectrum is degraded due to the perturbation of surface wave, which is attributed to the insertion of EBG structure. Then, a simple compensation scheme is proposed for an appropriate direction finding, and its effectiveness is demonstrated computationally.
