Abstract
Simplified integral equation formulations for electromagnetic scattering from finite, open, circular cylinders are developed by invoking approximate boundary conditions. The approximate calculations are compared to calculational results of formulations based on exact boundary conditions. It is shown that the approximations work quite well despite the curved edges of the cylinders
